The Sagamore, Bolton Landing, NY
This project exemplifies the benefits of utilizing a "precast concrete" solution. The Sagamore, an exclusive resort hotel in Bolton Landing, NY, needed to replace an aging bridge that serves as the only access to the resort located on an island. This vital link also carried the various utilities that serviced the resort and had to be maintained during construction. The use of precast concrete bridge units, approach slabs and balustrades enabled the structure to be rebuilt over a 4 month period without disrupting resort operations and adhered to the owners mandated 10 minute maximum shutdown period at any time during construction. The "precast" solution enabled the contractor, owner and engineer to accomplish their goals while assuring quality, longevity and pleasing aesthetics.

The Inverset bridge is 32 ft wide with spans ranging from 41 ft to 50 ft. The bridge units were manufactured to fit over the existing utilities that service the resort. The project engineer stated that, "The Inverset bridge system provided the design flexibility needed for the difficult staging and scheduling aspects of this relatively complex project. Excellent coordination and cooperation between all parties contributed greatly to the successful completion of the work."
