Fletcher St. over Route 17, Goshen, NY
The New York State Department of Transportation, Region 8 chose precast bridge units to replace this structure that carries Fletcher Street over Rt. 17 in Goshen, NY to minimize installation time and increase vertical clearance under the bridge. The two-span continuous design was accomplished by using web splices and a deck closure pour at the pier. NYSDOT further reduced construction time by pre-purchasing the steel girders through an emergency contract and offering incentives/disincentives for the project that was completed in just 95 calendar days.

Four 92.5 long units per span were shipped with special hauling equipment,left. The bridge was erected on two consecutive nights. Subsequently, the deck closure pour, brush curb, overlay, railing and approaches were completed and the bridge opened to traffic.
