NYS Route 812 over Beaver Creek, Oswegatchie, NY
Hy-Span® was installed by the New York State Department of Transportation to carry NYS Route 812 over Beaver Creek at its junction with the Oswegatchie River in Oswegatchie, NY. The entire bridge was installed in six months and in two stages. One lane of traffic was maintained on Route 812 at all times and the flow in Beaver Creek continued uninterrupted during the project.

Strip footings cast on top of steel piles support the Hy-Span® units. Eight units were installed in one day in Stage 1 and seven units in one day in Stage 2. Sheet piling supporting the existing road around the old pipe is visible in the photo below.
