Retaining Walls Project Gallery
New England Thruway (I-95), Harrison, NY

This attractive, yet functional wall protects the northbound side of the New England Thruway (I-95) in Harrison, NY from falling rocks. The 44’ high wall was necessary because right of way constraints prevented conventional slope lay back.

Brown, exposed aggregate wall panels, 4’ high x 24’ long are designed to slide over rock-bolt-supported steel “H” piles placed at 12’ centers (below). This design combines the structural capacity of steel lagging with aesthetically pleasing, long lasting, precast concrete wall panels artfully blending them into the surrounding neighborhood.
