In the matter of just a few hours on a Saturday afternoon, a total of (4) four 53-ft long x 12-ft wide precast Prefabricated Bridge Units (PBU’s) were installed on the mainline Garden State Parkway in Sayreville, New Jersey. The 48.5-ton units were fabricated in Fort Miller’s Easton, NY yard – located approximately 200 miles from the project site. The (4) four bridge units set “this” weekend completed the first of (5) five spans to be replaced by the general contractor, Northeast Remsco Construction. The owner is The New Jersey Turnpike Authority.
