- Completion Date: 2017
- Scope: 3-Sided Bridge Units, Footings, Approach Slabs, Guiderail
Project Overview
This project consisted of Fort Miller producing a total of (7) 3-sided rigid frame bridge units, (2) precast footings, (6) precast approach slabs, and (4) guiderail transitions for County Route 8A over Mill Brook in the Town of Heath, MA. The bridge units have a 40 ft- span and an 8 ft-6 in rise. Fort Miller utilized a 5,000-PSI high performance concrete mix with dark pigment called “Landmark Grey”. The darker concrete and bright red bridge rail contrast each other nicely on this rural New England road.
Brush curbs with anchorage hardware and approach slabs corbels were cast monolithically with the bridge units. The entire structure was transversely post-tensioned, and received an overlay upon completion.
