Fabricated by Fort Miller and installed in the field by the construction team of Halmar International / A. Servidone – B. Anthony Construction Corp JV, a total of 1,079 precast concrete bridge deck panels were successfully set on the I-90 & Patroon Island Bridges over Interstate-787 and Hudson River between Albany and Rensselaer Counties. For Fort Miller, this high-profile project featured stainless steel reinforcement, complex geometry, a monolithically poured deck / parapet, and a rigorous night and weekend construction schedule that was driven by Governor Cuomo’s “Drivers First” initiative. Each of the 1,079 total pieces of bridge deck were unique without any geometric repetition. Over the course of the 2+ year project, all precast panels were installed without any conflicts or fit-up issues.
