Project Overview
Metropolitan Transportation Authority hired Fort Miller to provide precast concrete panels on the train level platforms at Yankees Rail Station. Fort Miller’s precast concrete panels allowed for a seamless transition into Yankees Stadium from the nearby train station at E.153rd Street in New York City. This award-winning project, honored with the 2008 Rail Project of the Year Award by the Design-Build Institute of America, showcases innovative design and durability.
Fort Miller precast light-poles and stair pedestals into the panels to enhance efficiency and aesthetic appeal. Above the track level platform, a prefabricated bridge with an architectural roof and truss design connects the new train station to Yankee Stadium and beyond.
Fort Miller also supplied the support pier that enabled continuous progress even during winter months.
This expansion of train access via Metro North not only serves baseball enthusiasts but also benefits the local community by providing convenient transit options to key destinations such as the Gateway Center at the Bronx Terminal Market and the scenic waterfront parks adjacent to the Stadium.
