Design-Build Project, Contract D900037, New York City.
Fort Miller’s precast concrete bridge deck panels were installed on the Randall Avenue bridge over I-695 (Throgs Neck Expressway) in the Bronx. A total of (72) 10 in. thick panels were cast in Fort Miller’s Greenwich, NY facility and delivered to this site in April 2018. The Randall Avenue site was the first of three bridge sites utilizing our bridge deck panels on this Design-Build Contract with El Sol Contracting & Construction (Maspeth, NY). After all three projects were completed, Fort Miller fabricated and delivered a total of 58,000-SF of precast concrete bridge deck. All joints between the precast deck units were filled with ultra-high performance concrete.
