Project Overview
This project encompassed the restoration of 7.2 miles of I-95, one of the most heavily traveled six-lane interstate highways in the region. To meet the demanding conditions of this high-traffic corridor, our innovative precast pavement restoration solutions were integral to the project’s success.
We supplied normal-weight precast concrete Super-Slab® panels for full-depth roadway replacement, ensuring exceptional durability and performance. For the total replacement of pavement on two earth-filled arch bridges, lightweight precast concrete Super-Slab® panels were utilized, addressing load restrictions while maintaining structural integrity.
Key Challenges and Solutions
A key challenge was the limited work zone access, with closures restricted to five nighttime hours. During this time, two of three lanes could be closed for construction. Precision planning and execution were critical, as all three lanes had to be reopened by 5:30 a.m. daily, with steep penalties imposed for delays.
Our precast concrete systems streamlined installation, reduced disruption to motorists, and upheld the highest standards of safety and quality, underscoring our expertise in precast pavement restoration for complex, high-stakes infrastructure projects.
